Who we are and how to contact us

Blakeney is the name of the game, this journal, and the work being built around Blakeney Harbour. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Slow You Down Studios.

This policy covers Blakeney and Blakeney Pit Sailing on supported Apple devices, and blakeney.app. Other products you choose to use — including Morston — have their own policies.

Blakeney Pit Sailing

The game does not require a Blakeney account. You can sail, race the club fleet and explore the Pit without creating a profile with us.

It may keep, on your device, things you choose or that play needs: boat name, sail number, appearance, preferences, local scores and ghosts. These stay on the device unless you use a feature that uses Apple’s services.

Deleting the app removes those local copies. It does not delete information Apple already holds through Game Center, the App Store, or device backups you have enabled.

Game Center

Race Online, leaderboards and world-record ghosts use Apple Game Center. Apple processes your Game Center name, scores, match information and the ordinary connection information needed to run those features.

We do not operate our own player accounts, chat or score servers. There are no in-app purchases in Blakeney Pit Sailing, so we do not receive payment-card details.

You manage Game Center through your Apple ID and device settings. See Apple’s privacy policy.

This website

blakeney.app is a development journal. It does not require an account.

Our hosting provider processes connection and operational information — such as IP addresses, request times, status codes and security events — to deliver and protect the site. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party behavioural analytics.

Website fonts are delivered by Fontshare, whose servers receive connection information when your browser requests them.

Diagnostics

We do not add third-party advertising, analytics or crash-tracking SDKs to Blakeney Pit Sailing. The game does not ask for your location, contacts, photos or microphone.

Apple may separately process App Store and device diagnostics under its arrangements. When you test through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects and shares beta usage and crash information with us; feedback you submit may include comments, screenshots and contact details. We use it to investigate problems. See Apple’s TestFlight privacy notice.

Support

If you contact us, we process your message and any files you send to answer you and investigate the issue. Our contact mailbox is hosted by Google.

Please do not send passwords or recovery keys.

Who receives information and where it is processed

Information is shared with the services involved in the features you use:

• Apple: app distribution, Game Center, TestFlight and device services. Apple’s privacy policy.
• Cloudflare: website hosting, network security and operational logs. Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
• Fontshare: delivery of website fonts and the connection information needed for that delivery. Fontshare.
• Google: messages sent to our support mailbox. Google’s privacy policy.

Providers may act on our instructions for some processing and independently for their own accounts, security or legal duties. We may disclose relevant information if legally required. We do not sell or rent it.

These providers operate internationally, including in the United States. Information may be processed outside the country where you live, including outside the UK or European Economic Area.

Why we use personal information

Where UK or European data-protection law applies, we rely on the following grounds, according to the processing involved:

• Providing the service you request: processing necessary to perform our agreement with you, such as delivering the website or handling a support enquiry.
• Legitimate interests: operating a reliable service, answering users, investigating problems, preventing misuse and maintaining security, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Legal obligations: complying with applicable law and responding to valid legal requirements.

We do not use your information for advertising profiles or make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may ask to access, correct, erase or receive a portable copy of personal information; restrict processing; and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Some rights have exceptions. We will explain any restriction relevant to your request.

To make a privacy request: Email Us. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or the data-protection authority where you live. You do not have to complain to us first.

For information controlled by Apple — including Game Center records — you may also need to use Apple’s own controls. We will help identify the appropriate route where we can.

Children

Blakeney Pit Sailing is rated for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Game Center names and scores may be visible to other players. If you believe a child’s information has been provided inappropriately, contact us so we can investigate.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our processing changes and show the revised date at the top. We will bring material changes to your attention through appropriate notices. Publishing an updated policy does not by itself give us permission to use information for an incompatible new purpose.
